Holistic Foods!

Today I welcomed Marlene Marcello to talk about her book When Hope Never Dies and to learn about some of the basics of holistic health. She is author of the book When Hope Never Dies which chronicles her battle with cancer. We discussed the great Dr. Colin Campbell and his quote (that she included in her book): “We are basically a vegetarian species and should be eating a wide variety of plant food and minimizing our intake of animal foods.” Marlene shared some of the basics of a balanced yin and yang diet and about the benefits of including seaweed in the diet. She shared her fabulous Miso Soup recipe too. In addition, it was my honor to welcome Bart Potenza who has written and lectured on the virtues of healthy eating since the mid 70’s.  Bart and his partner Joy Pierson have created three successful vegetarian dining establishments and a wholesale line of Candle Cafe Frozen Entrees and Desserts, including Seitan Piccata with Lemon Caper,  Ginger Miso Stir-Fry, Tofu Spinach Ravioli, Mac & Vegan Cheese.
